Our Molding Heritage
We Specialize in Release Agents
Since 1942, Stoner Molding Solutions has been known for superior performance and consistent quality. Molders have come to rely on Stoner’s world class service and expert solutions for the challenges facing their business.
Today, Stoner’s brand portfolio offers solutions for any molding process. If you can mold it, we can release it. Stoner manufactures molding solutions for the thermoplastics, polyurethanes, composites, rotational, rubber, fiber, and investment casting industries.
Stoner release agents yield better performance than any competitive product. If you have not experienced the Stoner difference, please consider these reasons to switch. With Stoner, your cost per released part will be lower than any competitive product, so you’ll get “More Parts in Less Time.”
In the 1950s, Stoner was an early innovator of aerosol technology.
1950sIn the 1960s, Stoner’s success with lubricants for rubber molding led to the development of release agents for thermoplastic injection.
1960sBy the 1970s, Stoner expanded into polyurethane molding solutions.
1970sDuring the 1980s new cleaners and rust preventives were added.
1980sIn the 1990s, Stoner developed products for investment casting and melt spinning of polyester and nylon fiber.
1990sIn 2000, Stoner purchased Zip Molders Edge products.
2000In 2006, Stoner acquired the Dwight Products Nix Stix line for polyurethane and rubber molding.
2006In 2008 Stoner acquired the Releasomers line for rubber, composites, and rotational molding.
2008In 2013, the TraSys brand for rotational, rubber, and composites molding was added.
2013Honey Wax and KantStik brands for composites molding were added in 2014.
2014In 2018 M8 Miracle Gloss paste waxes were added for the composites market.

Mold Cleaner Safety and How to Use CUT Mold Cleaner Without Steel Wool
Dec 22, 2025, 10:51 AM by Tom MalesicFull storyMold cleaner safety is not a small process detail. In rotational molding, especially, how molds are cleaned affects worker health, tool life, and the quality of every part that comes out next. Yet one dangerous shortcut keeps showing up on production floors: pairing CUT Mold Cleaner with steel wool or Brillo pads.

Mold Release Trials: A Practical Guide to Testing Mold Release Agents for Real Process Improvement
Dec 18, 2025, 18:00 PM by Tom MalesicMold release performance can be the difference between smooth, repeatable production and a shift full of stuck parts, scrap, and unplanned downtime. Yet many manufacturers still evaluate new mold release agents informally, which makes results hard to trust and even harder to replicate. If the goal is production consistency, molding efficiency, and confident product selection, trials need to be treated like controlled process experiments.Full story -
What Are the Best Practices for Storing and Handling Mold Release Products?
Dec 11, 2025, 11:32 AM by Tom MalesicProper storage and handling of mold release products are critical to maintaining performance, extending product life, and ensuring consistent results in any molding operation. Whether you're working with aerosol mold release sprays or bulk mold release formulations, even small changes in storage conditions or handling methods can affect chemical stability and surface performance. Understanding how to protect these materials helps reduce waste, improve safety, and sustain high-quality output across production lines.Full story
